  • The application of sustainable chemistry and green chemistry in product and process design including the use of alternative media such as water, bio-, fluorous and ionic liquids (since 1974).
  • Development of a sustainable fluorous chemistry (since 1992).
  • Valorization of agricultural residues and food wastes (since 1999)..
  • Characterization and removal of microplastics from the river Danube (since 2019).
  • Development of the definition and metrics of sustainable and green chemistry (since 2009).
  • Mechanistic studies by using in situ spectroscopy (since 1974).
